" While buying handmade soap from the stores, we realised that most of them were fashioned out of factory made soap bases. The rest just didn’t seem up to the mark. We wanted something pretty, sophisticated, & luxurious that would feel good and be produced naturally at the same time. And that is when we realised that we could make our own soaps and cut down on both plastic use and chemical pollution. We began trying out various methods to make our own soap from scratch. After some experimentation, we came up with a recipe that worked!
The artisanal soaps we make not only feel and smell good, but they also look great! It gives us a lot of pleasure to know that not only can handcrafted goods be a credible alternative to store-bought mechanized products, but they are, for the long term, environment and user friendly.

"The story of NeoEthnic begins with our love for all things handmade. We enjoy making products from scratch in small batches, and one of the things we excel in is handcrafted cold and hot processed soaps. It all started when we realised how much waste we, a small middle-class family, generated on a regular basis simply by using plastic bottles and tubes of skincare products like shampoo, body wash, face and hand wash products.
Most store-bought products adopt disposable plastic packaging. Moreover, many of them are not natural soaps made from organic fat and alkali but from synthetic detergents. This means that the chemicals in the products, like the plastic bottles they come in, are stored in water for a very long time before disintegrating. By producing natural handmade soaps at home we hope to decrease detrimental effects on the environment caused just by washing hands, an activity that has increasingly gained importance in a post Covid world. "
Our soaps are made in small batches with handpicked local & sometimes exotic ingredients. We carefully choose materials that are beneficial for your skin & health. Some of them are organic, most of them are food grade. In India, we are blessed to have access to some of the most wonderful, fresh and natural ingredients that we source locally.
This is the chemistry & art of turning raw materials into soap. We use cold and hot process techniques of soap making and produce in small batches. All our soaps are made entirely indigenously, and we do not use industrial soap bases unless it is specifically custom ordered.
Our handcrafted soaps are cured slowly over a period of 6-18 weeks depending on the recipe, to provide the optimum quality and benefits. We hope the results are worth the effort! "

The design brief sought to incorporate a wide demographic from young individuals, to couples and families committed to transitting to a zero-waste lifestyle.
